TABITABIYA's handmade designs, in keeping with the Japanese tradition, present original items, all made with either new quality Japanese fabrics or vintage kimono, haori jackets or obi belts that I found during my hunts in second-hand kimono shops. Because yes, in Japan, when kimono, haori, obi, etc. can no longer be worn, that's how they find a new life!

I loved the charming atmosphere of this vintage obi. It offers us such a cute image of spring: Chô 蝶 butterflies fluttering among cherry blossoms Sakura 桜 and grass Kusa 草. And the color palette is so beautiful too, very bohemian!  I enhanced it with the red of a vintage kimono fabric that decorated with autumn floral and plant motifs such as the chrysanthemum  Kiku 菊, the reddened leaves of the mapple trees Momiji 紅葉 or  bush clovers in gold Hagi 萩 . For the back of the cover, I used another vintage golden obi which takes up these two seasons with its spring and autumn flower motifs, like again the chrysanthemum, the Pauwlonia  flower Kiri 桐  and the butterfly again, all in the middle of circles Maru 丸.
